What does this
surgery address?
Patients have facial feminisation surgery to feminise or conversely masculinise facial features such as their jaw, cheeks, forehead and nose.
This treatment is usually for transgender patients transitioning from male to female and from female to male.
This surgery can involve a combination of all or some of the below cosmetic procedures:
- Forehead contouring
- Cheekbone augmentation
- Mandibular angle reduction (jaw shave)
- Genioplasty (chin surgery)
- Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping)
- Thyroid shave
Female to male transitioning involves similar procedures but usually with the enhancement of the aforementioned structures.
Each patient is different and expectations and desired results will be discussed fully with Mr Heliotis during your consultation.
