Gina Katsaidis broke her jaw during a childhood cycling accident. She was six when she fell off her bike in her native South Africa. The injury caused her jaw to grow at an angle leaving her with a protruding jaw and unable to bite properly. Gina suffered anxiety and was depressed about the way she looked.
Now, she is finally able to look in the mirror for the first time in two decades, without crying. Gina says, “Words will never be able to express my thanks and gratitude to Mr Heliotis for all he has done for me. After 20 years, I see myself in the mirror with no tears streaming down my face.”
Mr Heliotis worked with Northwick Park orthodontist Victor Crow, who designed dental braces to restructure her jaw. Manolis performs over 100 facial procedures a year, on average and says that he is delighted that she was so pleased with the results, “That is the reason I do it, it’s exceptionally pleasing to see it go so well, particularly as the procedure was among the most complex 10 per cent.”
